University of Washington Debate Society

Welcome to the University of Washington Debate Society!

We are UW's only competitive speech and debate organization. Our members primarily compete in International Public Debate Association (IPDA), British Parliamentary (BP), and competitive speech, representing UW at tournaments across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

As a student-run debate team, we value public speaking, collaboration, and learning from one another. Through weekly practices, group events, and tournaments, our members sharpen their skills, gain confidence, and form lasting friendships.
